Waverley ranked 2nd in UK in Prosperity Index 2021

The Legatum Institute have just launched their UK prosperity index 2021, which measures institutional, economic and societal wellbeing across the UK’s 379 local authorities. Very relevant during a period of “levelling up” discussion.

Scores are calculated looking at a number of elements and pillars. In 2016 Waverley was ranked 1st in the UK. Waverley has been ranked 2nd today, behind Wokingham (p.17). An extremely fortunate position for the borough’s residents and businesses.

The high scoring of social capital and health pillars in the borough played a part in this ranking.

From the economic development perspective it is very encouraging to see within the open economy pillar, the “enterprise conditions” as very favourable in Waverley.
